Gas System Surveys
Speck & Burke offers simple and cost-effective inspections to ensure your systems are safe to use.
It’s sometimes difficult to know by which regulations your gas systems are governed. However, it is important to ensure all of your systems are fully compliant. Whether your gas systems come under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 or under the Health and Safety at work Act 1974, it can often be a daunting task to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations.
Full survey of your systems
For a fixed fee of £175.00 we will survey your gas systems and issue a written report. The survey will establish which legislation covers your system either the Pressure System Safety Regulations 2000 or the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Following this you will receive a report which will include a description of your gas systems and any recommendations for improvement in terms of their general condition, storage safety, cylinder handling, training requirements, the work area and legislative compliance.
Optional Inspections
If at that point you wish to have your gas systems inspected, Speck & Burke would first prepare a Scheduled Inspection Statement, against which they, or any other competent examiner can inspect and report. This leaves you with documentation to demonstrate, to any external or internal authority, that consideration has been given to the safety of the system and that it has been methodically examined and a report issued with actual performance figures for the various devices tested. It also demonstrates that the inspections are carried out regularly at an interval recommended by a Competent Person. Speck & Burke also have personnel qualified to prepare Written Schemes of Examination and to carry out inspections under PSSR 2000 (SI128).
If you already have a Written Scheme of Examination or a Scheduled Inspection Statement they can carry out the inspection of the gas system for you. The reports produced by their Competent Examiners will demonstrate to your insurers and to the Health and Safety Executive that your systems meet the required standard. The paperwork becomes part of the permanent record to be kept with your system.
